Breaking Down Barriers - The Impact of Huntington's Disease on Young People

April 07, 2025

Huntington's Disease Youth Organization

HDYO has more information about HD available for young people, parents and professionals on our site:

HDYO was created to champion for better understanding and support for young people impacted by HD from across the world! This edition of Breaking Down Barriers dives into the complexities young people face.

Young people, in general, face distinct developmental and life milestones. Huntington's disease impacts each individual differently, depending on where they are in those key milestones. A one-size-fits-all approach fails to address the diverse needs of young people impacted by HD at different stages of life. Each developmental phase presents unique challenges and opportunities, necessitating tailored interventions.

Thank you to the Breaking Down Barriers Sponsors: Teva Pharmaceuticals, uniQure, Wave Life Sciences, Roche, Neurocrine Biosciences, The Griffin Foundation, Sage Therapeutics and PTC Therapeutics.

Our content is split into different groups. Choose the group that best describes your needs for more information on HD.
