To celebrate the start of International Huntington’s Disease Awareness month, Huntington’s Disease Youth Organization (HDYO) are delighted to announce that they will hold the world’s 1st International Young Adults Conference for 18-35-year olds impacted by Huntington’s Disease in Glasgow, Scotland from 9th -11th May 2020.

Strathclyde University Technology and Innovation Centre (TIC) will be the venue for this inaugural conference and HDYO are excited to be working with both TIC and Glasgow Conference Bureau to deliver an innovation and dynamic conference.

This is the first conference of its kind and over the next two years HDYO will be working with global and local partners to ensure as many 18-35 years old from all over the world can attend and take part. We hope to be able to host 500 young adults over the 3 days.

The conference is an opportunity for young adults to come together to share their experiences, find out the latest research, take part in workshops and education session and help shape services and support for young people impacted by Huntington’s Disease worldwide.

Aileen Crawford, Head of Conventions at Glasgow Convention Bureau said, “As Glasgow joins in Scotland’s Year of Young People celebrations, we’re thrilled to have been chosen as the host city for the world’s first International Young Adults Conference for 18-35-year olds living with Huntington’s Disease. Glasgow is at the forefront of medical research and practice, as well as being one of the world’s leading conference cities. It’s not always the case that conference organisers have the opportunity to work directly with those involved in driving innovation within host cities but medical and life sciences associations who choose to host their conference in Glasgow can benefit from the cross sectoral collaboration between the NHS and the city’s academic and research hubs.”
